And The Prize Goes To...

I have decided to start a prize* that I will award to companies. It is soemthing I have ranted about before, but seems to be getting more and more prevalent.

It is basically for companies that have blatantly American/European adverts that they just foist on us in the UK as if we don't have our own identity or language.

I thought of calling it the:

"We care so little about you that we couldn't even be bothered to do you your own advert" Award

However, that seemed to be just a little bit of a mouthful, so I have instead gone for:

The Sod-Yous

The winner of the inaugural Sod-You is.....drum-roll.....

The film The Good Shepherd ..... Ta-dah!

Even an elementary spellcheck should tell them that we spell it "Theatre" over here - and a more careful analysis should have let them know that in the UK we watch plays in a theatre. We go to cinemas for films.

So my response to the good people of Hollywood is "Sod you too!" I'll bet they're quaking in their boots...

(Oh, and to hell with you for U571 and all of your other rewritings of history too...)
