FMCG (fast moving consumer goods)

Fast Moving Consumer Goods are those that are produced and bought in large numbers. Typically they are low-cost, high-volume items that consumers buy on a regular basis.

Examples of FMCG items include soft drinks, shampoo or breakfast cereal. They are the sort of items that you would see on supermarket shelves.

FMCG is probably the most visible type of product. They are promoted heavily in mass media (or Above The Line) places such as TV adverts, but also in Below The Line methods such as in-store promotions.
